Baileys & Kahlua Iced Coffee Shake

I would like to start with some disclosure: I do not like Kahlua. I do like Baileys. With that in mind, my review:

This is one of the best drinks I have ever had!

And I was not alone in this opinion. We (this is the royal ‘we’ because this was alllllll hubby) served it at a get together recently. The initial reaction by most was, “No thanks” until the ‘Mmmmmms’ and the eyes rolling back in the head from the sheer delight on our tongues from those in the initial pour convinced the initial naysayers to give it a go. This was a universal hit! Of the 10 people that tried it, 10 people loved it!

You start with these ingredients:

Baileys & Kahlua Iced Coffee Shake

4 c strong coffee
8 oz chocolate milk frozen in ice cube trays
1/2 c Kahlua
1/2 c Baileys Irish Cream
4 TBSP Kahlua hazelnut syrup
2 c vanilla ice cream
Whipped cream and cocoa powder as a garnish

• Blend ice cream in a blender
• Add coffee, Kahlua, Baileys and hazelnut syrup
• Add chocolate milk frozen cubes
• Blend for a few moments
• Pour into glass
• Top with whipped cream
• Sprinkle with cocoa

Wow was this good! A perfect way to enjoy Baileys in the summer!

Note: This post originally appeared several years on my old blog, Coupons, Deals and More. It was one of the best received liquor posts I ever did. Even if you dislike Kaluha (as I do), give it a try! You may be very pleasantly surprised!

As always, drink responsibly and please don’t drink and drive.

  1. I love this recipe. We are making these for my brother. He LOVES this stuff!!! He may have to pay me lol!

  2. I an not a coffee drinker, I just don’t like the taste. I really don’t drink but when I do want something tasty and relaxing I will make hot chocolate with milk and add Bailey’s to it. If I want to be under the table I will drink Bailey’s plain or on the rocks. I usually have one or two, (or more), on my cruises and I am going to Alaska the first week in September, (fifth time), so if you hear any news stories about a wild woman who fell from the railing of a ship that week, it will probably be me.

  3. Baileys is my favorite, and that recipe sounds soooo amazing. Can’t wait to try it once the weather warms up!
