Golden Swan Wreath DIY

This stunning wreath takes only 15 minutes to make! Perfect for so many holidays, party functions (think bridal or shower), or as a year-round wreath with a bit of bling, this unusual swan wreath is lovely wall décor or door décor!

Sometimes when my niece comes in with her ideas I give her the old side eye and wonder what she was thinking. When she pulled out the swan (first) … wellll let’s just say I was skeptical. Then she plopped it down on the wreath and I was sold! Yeah, sometimes I gotta see it to understand, but this one was simple to buy into.

I thought this wreath was going to be a winter wreath. Then, it came together and it is just so much more! You could hang it for Christmas, winter, a baby shower, bridal shower, 50th wedding anniversary, sweet 16 – just an all around flexible wreath decor.

Once again my photography skills have failed to convey just how beautiful a wreath this truly is. It sparkles, it glistens, it just pops out at you when you see it. I think I need more photography lessons.

Notes:

• This truly was a 15-minute craft. There are very few pieces, and yet the end result is simply gorgeous. Neither my niece nor I keep many of these crafts (they go to friends & family, she will sell them on Facebook marketplace, or they get donated to the nursing home where my father resides), but this one she claimed even before she started it. LOL She knew exactly how gorgeous it would be. My photography “skills” do not do this justice. It is truly lovely.

• The swan in resting on a piece of greenery because this is white on cream. Without the greenery, the swan would be completely lost on that wreath.

• The greenery chosen is substantial. There were three, fairly thick wires under that wrap. When you can’t immediately clip through the floral wire, just work it back and forth by bending it after the initial clip. You will have made a dent in the wire weakening its integrity, and by bending back and forth the wire will then snap.

Note: everything on this wreath was purchase at my local craft store last week. Winter is in-season at your local Joann Fabric, Michaels, and Hobby Lobby right now!

This super easy to make candy cane milkshake is a fresh, crisp, refreshing adult cocktail perfect for the holiday season. If you like the cool taste of peppermint, you will adore this festive holiday beverage.

Boozy Candy Cane Shake Recipe

Notes:

• This uses vanilla frosting to rim as candy canes can be heavy. If you crush your candy canes to be very fine, you should be able to rim using the peppermint schnapps as the wet, and finely crushed candy canes just around the top of your glass. Click here for the easy directions on how to rim a cocktail glass.

• You can use melted white chocolate as the “wet” for rimming! Just be sure to roll in the crushed candy cane before the chocolate hardens.

• To crush the candy canes… a plastic bag is probably optimal, although I’ve used a piece of wax paper folded in half before. Just make sure you keep it tight in the middle and don’t let the candy cane pieces squirt out the sides.

• You can use a rubber mallet, hammer, or rolling pin to crush the candy canes.

• This makes approximately 52-54 ounces off boozy milkshake. It depends on how much you can get out of your blender, and how large your scoops of ice cream are. Plan accordingly for glass rimming. Four glasses would equal 13 ounces each, three glasses about 17 ounces, two glasses, about 26 ounces of this boozy candy cane shake. I cannot imagine anyone drinking all of this alone, buuuuuuut…

• You can add a few drops of peppermint extract to the blender mixture for some extra cool in your shake!
