Tips and variations for making these crispy rice turkey legs:
● Rice Krispies cereal was used to make this recipe. You can use any brand of crispy rice cereal.
● When mixing, a greased spatula will make for less sticking.
● Crispy rice treats can be a little sticky. Sometimes, it helps to spray cooking spray on your hands (or spoon) or coat them with butter before handling.
● A 10-ounce bag of mini-marshmallows is a standard-size bag as of this posting.
● I recommend using fresh marshmallows. Stale ones do not melt very well.
● 15 straight pretzels are about 3 ounces.
● Use a pretzel stick instead of a Popsicle stick to make the Thanksgiving Rice Krispies snack edible.
● If you run into any trouble getting the crispy rice treat to stick to the pretzel, use a bit of white chocolate on the end of the pretzel as a glue.
● If necessary, you can use wax paper instead of parchment paper.
● Butter in Baking: Essential Tips for Perfect Baked Goods
● Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to five (5) days.
● You can freeze these Turkey Legs in an airtight container for up to three (3) months. I recommend placing parchment paper between them to avoid sticking. Thaw at room temperature when you are ready to serve.

Rice Crispy Turkey Legs Recipe Directions:
1. In a small microwave-safe bowl, melt the white candy melts in the microwave at 50% power for 1 minute. Stir and then continue to microwave at 50% power in 30-second bursts until melted. Be sure to stir between each interval. Depending on the power of your microwave, this could take up to 3 minutes.
2. Dip the tip of one end of your straight pretzel into the melted white candy. You only need to dip about ½” deep.
3. Lay flat on a piece of parchment paper and immediately press two (2) mini marshmallows into the melted chocolate, one on either side of the pretzel. Let stand to harden for 5 minutes.
4. Once the marshmallows are adhered and the candy has hardened, dip the marshmallow end of the pretzel into the white candy. You want the marshmallow tip and about half of the pretzel stick to be completely covered. Set aside to harden while you make the rice crispy treats.
5. Put the remaining marshmallows and the butter in a large, microwave-safe mixing bowl. Heat in the microwave on high heat for 1 minute. The butter should be melted and very puffy.
6. Add the cereal and stir to fully coat in the marshmallow mixture.
7. Spoon out balls of the rice crispy treats about 1 and 1/2 inches in diameter. Press the naked part of the straight pretzel into the rice crispy ball. Use your hands to press the rice crispy treats around the end of the pretzel and to form into a drumstick shape. Press firmly so that they hold together well. Set aside to cool while we start on the chocolate coating.
8. In a small microwave safe bowl, melt the chocolate candy melts in the microwave at 50% power for 1 minute. Stir and then continue to microwave at 50% power in 30 second time bursts until melted. Be sure to stir between each interval. Remember, this could take a little bit, up to 5 minutes.
9. Use the pretzel leg to dip the rice crispy end of the turkey leg into the chocolate, completely coating it. Tap the leg lightly on the side of the bowl to remove any excess chocolate.
10. Lay out on parchment paper to dry and set for 20 minutes before enjoying immediately.
11. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to five (5) days.
