Easy Apple Pops Recipe

It’s apple season here in New York State!! Apple season starts as early as July and runs through the very end of October here. “We” have apple trees on “our” hunting land, and Hubby will pick them and bring them home for me to make amazing apple treats! They are organic apples as we do not spray. They actually taste pretty good and aren’t full of bugs (unlike the pear trees – blech).

New York State grows more than one billion pounds of apples per year, and many are delivered fresh to your store. In addition, pick-your-own apple picking is big business in my area. If you live in New York State, you may want to pack the kids in the car and take a drive to pick your own apples! Click here to see where you can pick your locally grown apples in New York State.

Ok, so now you have picked up a bag of apples and your kids are clamoring for something to make with them! Well, I’ve got a lot of amazing apple recipes on the blog including Apple Brown Betty (my favorite! I make two and freeze one for later), Baby Apple Walnut Pies Recipe (so cute, and truly simple to make!), and Apple Cinnamon Waffles Recipe (what an amazing breakfast!). ”

But sometimes, you just want something super simple. That is where these easy apple pops come in. The fabulous combo of apples and chocolate on a stick make for a simple to make, delicious snack for kids and adults alike. Chocolate covered apples – natures nearly perfect food!

Notes:

Lots of notes because there are lots of options with this recipe!

• Lemon juice will stop your apples from browning. In this case, you can simply swipe the lemon over each side of the apple to reduce the lemony taste tossing in juice may produce. If you would like to toss in lemon juice, by all means, do so!

• If you are not sure how fast the candy melts in your local grocery store turnover, buy some Wilton chocolates. They are a great consistency and generally easier to work with.

• If your chocolate melts are not smoothing out as you would like, add a touch of vegetable oil and heat again (this would be the third round).

• The chocolate is drizzled over the apples in this recipe so not full coverage. You can dip if you like!

• You can use chopped nuts, cherries, etc in place of, or in addition to, the mini chocolate chips!
