Last week I reposted my Bud Light Lime Lime-a-Rita Review from last year, and I made mention that a Bud Light Lime Straw-Ber-Rita Review would be forthcoming… and here it is!
I really, really like Bud Light Lime Lime-a-Ritas, so I was extremely intrigued by Bud’s new product: Bud Light Lime Straw-Ber-Rita.
Bud Light Lime Straw-Ber-Rita, an 8% alc/vol flavored malt beverage that blends the refreshment of Bud Light Lime with the taste of an authentic strawberry margarita. An 8oz serving of the 8% ABV version is 199 calories and has 23.6g carbs.
I had a can of the Bud Light Lime Straw-Ber-Rita three different times in the past two weeks so I could write this review up – and it wasn’t because I liked the Bud Light Lime Straw-Ber-Rita, because I didn’t particularly. I kept giving it a go so I could figure out why I disliked it.
Poured, there is no head at all to the Bud Light Lime Straw-Ber-Rita. It smells a bit like a strawberry, looks redish-pinkish in the glass, but it tastes like an artificial carbonated strawberry going down. This isn’t a good thing. It tastes nothing like a good strawberry anything to me, let alone a margarita.
To say I was disappointed in the Bud Light Lime Straw-Ber-Rita is an understatement. I had such high expectations after the Bud Light Lime Lime-a-Rita, and was so looking forward to this product! Maybe that was the problem? My expectations were too high? I do know that while we will continue to buy the Bud Light Lime Lime-a-Rita, we will not buy the Bud Light Lime Straw-Ber-Rita again.
Have you tried the Bud Light Lime Straw-Ber-Rita? What did you think?
As always, drink responsibly and please don’t drink and drive.
