5 Minute Craft: Easter Eggs Magnet

I have a bunch of these easy 5 minute crafts coming in 2019. They are super-duper cute and very easy to make. My niece came up with this idea after spotting these sweet little magnetic containers at Bed, Bath and Beyond. So, we made one. We were both thrilled with how it came out (it is a Christmas one), but the cost of the magnetic container was $5.99 (well, $4.80 after the 20% off coupon EVERYONE uses when they shop BB&B), and so even though that first magnet was simple and cute, we were undecided if we wanted to do more.

One day soon after we did the first craft, guess what!? She found them at the dollar store! One. Dollar. This whole entire craft costs about $2 to make, and it was done in 5 minutes. Crafting doesn’t get any better than this!

So get thee to your local dollar store and stock up on these magnetic containers because I have got a number of these little crafts coming… one for every season and a buncha holidays. They really are adorable.

Here’s the heart magnet (Valetine’s day, sweetest day, bridal shower) 5 Minute Craft: Valentine’s Day Heart Magnet I posted in January.

Places where you can buy the jot containers online if you can’t find them in your local dollar store:

• These are a little different at the container store

5 Minute Craft: Easter Eggs Magnet Notes:

• For the back, ground we used scrapbook paper with large enough eggs to click out and use for the border. You can use lightweight felt eggs ig you like. Other cute easter ideas would be bunnies, chickies, etc.

• This craft does not use glitter. You could definitely rim your eggs with glue and then sprinkle blue, yellow, green, or pink glitter around the eggs to make them pop!

• Definitely hot glue the container closed if little hands will be playing with these (or your kitchen will look like a glitter bomb went off when that small child opens this).

• You could probably use goop on this but remember to let it dry completely before moving on to the next step.

Hand Painted Robin Eggs Bird Nest Décor

These easy to make hand-painted robin eggs make for super cute springtime or Easter decor. This is a very fast craft project with most of the time coming in for drying of the eggs.

Hand Painted Robin Eggs Bird Nest Décor Notes:

• You can prime your eggs with a layer of spray paint for plastic if you like. You could also use wooden eggs and prime for a wood base. It doesn’t matter if the fake eggs are brown or white. You could use “chicken” eggs, but realize they will be larger than “robin” eggs. Do purchase plastic eggs that do not come apart for a more “realistic” look.

• While you do not have to, you may want to use a spray paint that claims it is better for plastics.

• While this is done in two shades of blue you can do any color of your choice. Some other great options would be pink, yellow, or green. While not exactly “robin” eggs in all those shades, they are very much great springtime egg colors (or Easter egg colors).

• While two different shades of blue were used for these eggs, you can do one shade, or three or four shades! It is really up to you how you’d like your egg nest to look.

• You can hot glue your nesting to the bottom of your bowl if you like.

• You can make a ton of these eggs and place them into a tall vase. Whether you choose to have the moss and nesting at the bottom alone, or in layers as you add eggs to your tall clear vase, is up to you!

• For your glass bowl – check the dollar stores or Target. You could use an old terrarium bowl, or something from delivered flowers too!

You can make this any color and may want to vary it a bit (even with just different color yellows or blues or pinks for depth) if you are making three or more as part of a centerpiece or a bigger holiday table decoration. These also work for spring decorating, so keep that in mind too!

I really like painted wine glass decor, as you can see by the Yellow Chick Wineglass DIY (so, so cute! for Easter or spring), Love Bug Wineglass DIY (Valentine’s Day or Summer decor), Love Monster Wineglass DIY (Valentine’s Day or Halloween) Turkey Wine Glass DIY (Thanksgiving or Fall), DIY Wine Glass Snowman (Christmas or Winter), DIY Wine Glass Witch (Halloween) and the DIY Pineapple Candle Holder (anytime!) crafts I have shared in the past. But the truth is, these painted wine glass crafts are simple to make, fun, and are finished in no time flat. Truly just about any adult can make them.
