Niagara Falls

When I took the spring pictures of Niagara Falls back in April, an idea formed that I would take pictures of the Falls all four seasons. Hubby and Max were good enough to go up last month with me again, and we took more pictures of the Falls on a bright summer day! The weather was lovely, but it had rained earlier that morning so the crowds were down before noon. Well, that and most people were over on Goat Island. The New York State parks department was working on something or another, and had a chunk of the view by the parks plaza fenced off. *sigh*

As we approached, I noticed they had a “Made in America” store!

As I mentioned before, you can walk over to Canada if you like (have a passport or enhanced driver’s license).

Niagara Falls

Max had a great time in the park!

Niagara Falls

We just walked to the Goat Island Bridge where I took a picture of how the rapids flows over and makes the Falls.

Then we walked along the rapids to the Falls.

I noticed the Maid of the Mist boats were out in full force!

  1. Gorgeous pictures! Someday I hope to make it there. You’re dog is so cute!

  2. Diana @ Toronto Teacher Mom says

I have never seen the falls from the US side. Looks beautiful!

  3. Jottings From Jersey says

    Gorgeous photos!

  4. Those are great shots and remind me of my undergrad days going to school in St. Catharines and making casino runs.

  5. Alissa Apel says

My sister just went there. I’ve been wanting to see her photos. She’s such a punk about posting. I love your shots!

  6. Renae of Simple Sequins says

Oooooh, that river is MAMMOTH. I haven’t ever been there but I can imagine the noise of it’s force. Those photos alone take my breath away.

    • You know Renae, when you are standing by it, it isn’t all that loud. When you go to the Cave of Winds, it is noisy, and I think it is a lot louder on Goat Island too. But, that may just be me.

  7. Sam Stone says

Such great shots. I would love to go there one day.

  8. NYCSingleMom says

This is one place I want to visit but yet to get there. Your photos are gorgeous and make so jealous.

    happy WW!

  9. Lovely photos! Wishing my family can visit the place someday.

  10. Great photos.. especially one.. its magnificent! 🙂 I’ve been to the Falls quite a few times, both sides, but I have to say, I prefer the US side for one reason.. Its not as crowded as the Canadian side and you dont have people jostling you around. Most of the times we’ve gone to the Canadian side, its been plain miserable..
I love the park on the US side and thats my kinda place.. However.. if I were going to vacation at Niagra Falls, I’d probably want to do so on the Canadian side since there are so many other amenities there..
Either way, both sides are great for certain things. I bring all my vacationers to the US side.. always!

  11. Gorgeous place to visit, especially after its rained! Love all of your pics from Niagara Falls. Is there a story behind the “Maid of the Mist Boats”?

    • Story? I am not sure. They take you closer to the Falls. They give you rain coats as you board, and believe me, you need them. You will end up soaked!

  12. Rhonda @Laugh Quotes says

Wow, great shots. I was there with my girls when they were 2 and 4, so about 11 years ago. You captures of the falls are perfect.

  13. Pranab Bagchi says

I live in Webster, I like the Niagara Falls. Every opportunity I get, I go there. The falls look different every time I see it. Toronto is a very nice city too. Lots to do and see there. Niagara on the Lake is a great place to visit for lunch and theater! After retirement, I stayed in Webster because of the falls! PB
