Bud Light Lime Mang-o-Rita Review
My review of the Bud Light Lime Mang-o-Rita brewed by Anheuser-Busch InBev.
In 2012, Budweiser came out with the Bud Light Lime Lime-a-Rita. Which I loved.
In 2013, Budweiser came out with the Bud Light Lime Straw-Ber-Rita. Which I did not love.
In 2014, Budweiser introduced two new flavors of their ritas: Bud Light Lime Mang-o-Rita and Bud Light Lime Raz-Ber-Rita. I will review the Bud Light Lime Mang-o-Rita this week, and the Bud Light Lime Raz-Ber-Rita next Friday.
Bud Light Lime Mang-o-Rita is one of the newest flavors being offered by Anheuser-Busch. It is sold in 12 packs, 6 packs, individual cans, or as part of an 18 pack multipack of all 4 Bud Rita flavors.
There are no tasting notes from Anheuser-Busch. And I looked! I did find the PR release which gives the basics:
The new Ritas are 8%* alc/vol flavored malt beverages that blend the refreshment of Bud Light Lime with the taste of authentic mango
I found the “nutritional” information on the side of the 8oz can:
Bud Light Lime Mang-o-Rita Review Nutritional Information
Calories per 8oz serving 195
Alcohol 8% by volume
The Bud Light Lime Mang-o-Rita Review tastes nothing like a beer. The Bud Light Lime Mang-o-Rita Review tastes nothing like a Margarita.
I bet you now expect me to tell you it is awful? Au contraire!
I really enjoyed the Bud Light Lime Mang-o-Rita! First of all, it smells fabulous! Fruity, more peach-y than mango-y, it nevertheless smells delightful. It pours with a teeny-tiny head that disappears almost immediately, leaving behind an effervescent beverage (the bubbles seem to disappear after the first sip – settling?) that looks more like Orange Crush than anything else. It doesn’t taste like alcohol with its orange and peach flavor, so that is something to watch out for. When photographing for this review, I had one Bud Light Lime Mang-o-Rita and then “tested” a second, just to be certain I liked it.
Er, let’s just say – you know how jello shots can do you in without really trying? Same would apply to the Bud Light Lime Mang-o-Rita! It goes down smooooooth, and I’d imagine after three quick ones, you’d be trying to feel your tongue.
Needless to say, I stopped at two.
I would rate the Bud Light Lime Mang-o-Rita as highly drinkable. Something fun and fruity to drink on a warm summer day. I would rim a glass with sugar, then add ice, and then pour the Bud Light Lime Mang-o-Rita if you are feeling ambitious.
Retailing for $12.99 a 12pack, the Bud Light Lime Mang-o-Rita is a different, if not beer-y or margarita-y summer beverage! Definitely give it a try if you like fruity, non-alcoholic tasting summer beverages.
As always, drink responsibly and please don’t drink and drive.
