Notes:
● This is a different margarita. It is sweet and sour, and not just due to the mix. This reminded me of a sweet tart with a kick. If you like sweet tarts, chances are you will like this Italian Margarita recipe.
● If you do not know how to rim a cocktail glass, click here for instructions. It is very easy! For this Italian Margarita recipe, you can use Amaretto, Triple Sec or the Tequila for the wet. The dry is coarse sugar.

Italian Margarita Ingredients:
● Coarse Sugar, for rim of glass
● 2oz Amaretto
● 1oz Triple Sec
● 1oz Golden Tequila
● 4oz Sweet n’Sour Mixer
● Lime or Orange Wedges, for rim of glass and garnish
● Ice
Italian Margarita Mise en Place:
● Jigger
● Cocktail Shaker
● Cocktail Glass
Italian Margarita Directions:
● Rub rim of a cocktail glass with lime and roll rim in sugar. Set aside.
● Add Amaretto, Triple Sec, Golden Tequila and Sweet n’ Sour Mixer to a cocktail shaker.
● Add ice to fill shaker.
● Shake well.
● Pour into prepared glass. (You can strain if you like.)
● Garnish with lime or orange if desired.
● Serve immediately.

Im afraid Im a margarita purist.. There are a lot of things Im not too picky about.. but this is one of them. I tend to make my own at home since its hard to get a really good one “out” but a few weeks ago, a girlfriend & I met for lunch and they had a “‘rita’ special that was super inexpensive so we gave em a shot.. OMG were they good.. I was shocked to my silly purist boots. 😉
Im not a fan of amaretto but I do need it occasionally in recipes so who knows…maybe some day I’ll buy a bottle of amaretto and have to give these a shot… 😉
